Encouragement for June 12, 2017

“Applying wisdom to your life each day will help you keep distractions and foolishness away.”

When a person’s life is pleasing to God; God will position Himself to hear each and every one of the person’s prayers. God will keep His ears open to listen to the requests and cries of the person so that He may meet the needs and desires of the person. When a person is disobedient and does not please God, the individual will not be able to get God’s attention because God will close His ears to the person, not hearing anything the person has to say. The only prayer God wants to hear from a disobedient person is a prayer of repentance.

Proverb 15:29 says “The Lord does not listen to the wicked, but He hears the prayers of those who do right.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged and have a great day.

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

Sometimes, other people may intentionally insult or offend you just to see if they can get you to respond or react. Even though the insult or offense may hurt you; sometimes it is best to ignore the person, the insult or offense and allow God to deal with the person. Trying to defend yourself can make the situation worse, and can also cause you to act out of character, and no one is worth pulling you out of your character. Even in the midst of hurt and pain, sometimes your response must be to stand still, be quiet and allow God to fight for you.

Proverb 12:16 says “A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.” (NLT)

Be blessed, be encouraged

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

God is pleased and honored with individuals who are humble, and a person who is wise knows that they should be humble. When a person is humble, they set themselves up to be blessed, as well as favored by God. A person who is not humble, but full of pride and arrogance will lift themselves up, without the assistance of anyone else, which will then cause the spirit of pride to place the person into a position in which they can fall, and the person will then be ashamed and disgraced before others.

Proverb 11:2 says “Pride leads only to shame; it is wise to be humble.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.

Encouragement for April 18, 2017

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

You should never lose focus on another person’s foolishness wondering why when you are trying to do right, why another person is not getting caught in their wrong. The key is not to focus on the wrong of others but remain focused on doing the right thing, even when you see others doing wrong and foolish things because nothing lasts forever. In time, wrong will play itself out and a person who does wrong or foolish things will get caught in their own mess or either hung by their own rope.

Proverbs 5:22-23 says “An evil man will be caught in his wicked ways; the ropes of his sins will tie him up. He will die because he does not control himself, and he will be held captive by his foolishness.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.

Encouragement for April 14, 2017

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

Every person is always being watched, as well as followed at all times. Nothing a person does is ever hidden and not known. Just as God can see, as well as knows everything about a person before a person ever does anything, the eyes of God can also see behind closed doors. Because God is everywhere and sees everything, nothing and no one can and will ever get past Him, not even in the dark.

Proverb 5:21 says “The Lord clearly sees everything you do. He watches where you go.” (ERV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.

‚ÄčEncouragement for March 30, 2017

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

God loves each person so much that He extends mercy to everyone, even in spite of what the person has done. God is not like man; He does not stay upset with us and hold our wrongdoings, faults, mess-ups and mistakes against us, but instead God looks beyond all of our mess by extending new mercy upon us so that we may have time to get things right within ourselves so that we may be in right standing with Him.

Psalms 145:8-9 says “The Lord is kind and shows mercy. He does not become angry quickly but is full of love. The Lord is good to everyone; He is merciful to all He has made.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.

Encouragement for March 10, 2017

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

Maturity and wisdom will cause a person to look at their life, and realize that they cannot make it without God. When a person really begins to focus on trying to do the right things, the individual will want everything in their life to come into complete alignment; the people, places and things.

Psalms 119:59, 67 & 71 says “I thought about my life, and I decided to follow your rules. Before I suffered, I did wrong, but now I obey your word. It was good for me to suffer so I would learn your demands.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.

¬†The “F” Word: Walking In Divine Forgiveness

Notes from this morning’s message

Date: March 5, 2017

Speaker: Bishop Sherman C. Gee Allen

Scripture References: Psalms 103:8-12, Isaiah 38:17, Micah 7:19, Matthew 6:14-15, Romans 3:21-25, 2 Corinthians 5:19, Colossians 2:13-15, James 5:15-16 & Revelation 12:10-11

Notes

1) We are most like God when we walk in forgiveness.

2) Theological Forgiveness is God’s forgiveness of us.

3) Propitiation is the effect of forgiveness on God; sin offering to change God’s mind from wrath to favor and acceptance; the sacrifice made for sin.

4) You must choose to forgive.

5) God does not give us what we deserve.

6) Expiation is the effect of forgiveness; not on God, but on sin itself; covering; blotting out.

7) Atonement is reconciliation; bringing man back to God.

8) Social Forgiveness is our forgiveness of others.

9) Personal Forgiveness is our forgiveness of ourselves.

10) Unforgiveness makes you forever the victim of the past.

11) Until you forgive the person who hurt, wounded or violated you; you are forever tied to them.

12) One of the blessings of forgiveness is, it qualifies you to be forgiven.

13) One of the hardest parts of being a Christian is walking in forgiveness because we feel as if people do not deserve it.

14) Forgiveness is predicated upon love.

15) You must love the unlovable.

16) When you choose not to forgive, you will remember what the person did.

17) Forgiveness is not easy work.

18) As long as you are focusing on the pain, you will never forgive.

19) Unforgiveness is a lack of faith.

20) Unforgiveness makes a person feel as if they can protect themselves.

21) Forgiveness is not saying “It did not hurt; it is saying, it does not matter.”

22) God forgives us, not because we deserve it but because He loves us.

23) In God, all sins are the same but man judges sins on different levels.

24) People justify their unforgiveness according to the way they have been hurt, not realizing how much they have hurt God.

25) Everyone is an “ex” something.

26) When you fail to forgive, you give memories power.

27) When you forgive, it breaks soul ties.

28) God will allow people to hurt you in order to test your maturity.

29) You can be blessed, and still be wrong.

30) You have not forgiven when you have no compassion.

31) Maturity is not based upon what you do at church, it is based upon your heart.

32) Forgiveness is emotional detachment from the source of the pain.

33) Until you deal with the “F” word, your heart is still wrong.

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

There will be times when individuals you have prayed for, those you love, people you are connected to through assignments or relationships will turn or come against you. Sometimes, it may not be for any specific reason, at all. Whenever this type of situation may arise, the thing for you to do is never try to take matters into your own hands by trying to defend yourself. Always, put the situations and individuals in the Hands of God, and allow Him to deal with those situations and individuals, no matter who or what they may be. God can handle anything and anyone better than you can. Sometimes, you must step completely back and allow God to step all the way into a situation, even if you have been hurt or disrespected, just so that God can fix the situation for you, as well as reveal to those who has caused the problems that He was the one working on your behalf.

Psalms 109:2-5 & 26-27 says “Wicked people and liars have spoken against me; they have told lies about me. They have said hateful things about me and attack me for no reason. They attacked me, even though I loved them and prayed for them. I was good to them, but they repay me with evil. I loved them, but they hate me in return. Lord my God, help me; because you are loving, save me. Then they will know that your power has done this; they will know that you have done it, Lord.” (NCV)

and have a great day.

Encouragement for February 27, 2017

“A word of wisdom a day keeps distractions and foolishness away.”

God has so much love for everyone until He really does not punish anyone as they truly deserve to be punished. If every individual would really take the time to think about the things they have done, said or even thought; each person could and would see that God not only has extended grace and mercy over and over again to them, but grace and mercy has also spared their life and protected them at times when they were even unaware. Even though God is a God of many chances, no one should ever take God’s grace and mercy for granted because no one knows when grace and mercy will come to an end for them.

Psalms 103:8-10 says “The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and He has great love. He will not always accuse us, and He will not be angry forever. He has not punished us as our sins should be punished; He has not repaid us for the evil we have done.” (NCV)

Be blessed, be encouraged

and have a great day.
